Digital access
The ability to use digital technology and use or create information, such as to be able to search the web for information on a project, business presentation etc. Technology helps me with just about everything. When I need help with something I can easily search the web to find it and share it with others as well. Technology also helps me by giving me the ability to have a cell phone to text, call, or e-mail friends and family to let them know how I’m doing or to ask a simple question.  Technology helps me in many ways, but it not only helps me, it helps many people with anything and everything. There is a wide range of what you can do with technology. Save memories, stay connected, and even keep entertained.
It makes using technology a lot easier if you know the terms such as software, hardware, malware, etc. For example, if someone asked you to update your software, and you don’t know what they are talking about you can be stuck with old software and your apps or programs won’t work as good or maybe not at all. This could be a problem if your profession is a teacher or a writer for a news paper or comic. If your programs like word or pages doesn’t work then you can teach or you can’t give the people the news they need. You could get fired or even replaced. Just because you don’t understand simple terms, it could affect your job and in this economy, maybe your life.

I learned that in this time (2013), technology revolves around everything. To check the weather we turn on the tv or look on our smart phone. We text people all the time, if you need to contact someone we pick up a phone. We use it every day of our lives. We might not notice because it’s a habit. But we use it nonstop. You are using some sort of technology to read this now. Soon, there will be no mail, you’ll be able to pay your bills online and businesses will call you and e-mail you with coupons instead of the mail. We revolve around technology weather we think so or not.

Digital access

Digital access by Mikeyk6996 on GoAnimate

Digital access is the ability to access a computer and the internet and those who can not. I personally have access to not only a computer and other wi-fi enabled devices to help me with learning and entertainment. This makes my life easier because I am able to do my homework at home and not have to go to a library or a friends house to do any school work. It also give me the ability to contact friends and family. FaceTime grandparents, I.M friends to hangout. The internet makes just about everything easier.
Edmodo is an example of digital divide in education. It gives kids the ability to look up what their homework is using the internet. Some people forget their agenda at school or maybe they just lost it. They then go on the internet and check what their teacher posted. This will prevent the excuse "i forgot" and make kids grades better. This makes my personal grades go up. I now know that if i forget my homework, i can easily go online and look it up.
Bacon academy has plenty of computers students can use for classwork and homework. As well as checking homework and other school related activity. This helps kids for their future. The reason is that they are then able to learn heavier equipment such as automotive computers because they have basic skills on a normal average computer. The more more skill, the better the job that involves technology. But I have not seen a student that isn't comfortable with technology. All the kids I've met is very comfortable with computers and know how to serf the internet.
Schools can help kids who don't have computers by keeping their library open later so kids who don't have technology can do homework/class work and connect with teachers. To ask them any questions and ask to stay after for extra help. And to help the kids with disabilities.  "It sets new standards so that Americans with disabilities can take advantage of the technology our economy depends on, and that's especially important in today's economy when every worker needs the necessary skills to compete for the jobs of the future," Obama said. The gulf between those who have ready access to computers and the Internet, and those who do not.
